Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) hosted a seminar on digital intelligence this month with more than 60 industry representatives, faculty, students and alumni attending.

Run by the Suzhou Executive Academy (SEA), the seminar ‘Digital Intelligence Transformation’ explored a number of topics including the relationship between intelligence and culture, the challenges China faces in the era of digital intelligence, and the impact artificial intelligence will have on businesses.

Three keynote speakers delivered speeches, including Johnny Jiang, IBSS lecturer and Asia supply chain head for Cargill Animal Nutrition; Jian Li, a global partner at A.T. Kearney; and Charles Lin, vice president of the Order Fulfilment Centre in Dmall Life Network Technology.

By examining changing trends in modern society, Jiang pointed out that digital intelligence in China is still under evolution, but it will eventually transform life as we know it.

“Digital intelligence will fundamentally change our society in terms of resource allocation, and how business and social systems evolve. It’ll have a profound impact on human society,” he said.

“What will be necessary for businesses in this time of transformation is developing the critical thinking skills of their employees.

“Digital intelligence will be the only area where humans can have a relative advantage over machines as strong artificial intelligence advances.”

The seminar is part of a series of events that SEA will run across the year to support and educate business and industry leaders in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The Academy’s events bring together a community of business and academic professionals to offer a global insight into a variety of business issues, as well as the unique access to a high-level executive network.
