On May 11^th, the 16^th Annual NECCS finals of Zhejiang province hosted by Advisory Board for College Foreign Language Teaching and Institute for College Foreign Language Teaching, and undertook by Office of Teaching Affairs of ZJUT and College of Foreign Languages ended at ZJUT. A total of 192 contestants from 63 colleges all around Zhejiang and 80 faculty advisers took part in the four categories of competition: Band A (postgraduates), Band B (English majors and undergraduates), Band C (non-English major undergraduates), and Band D (vocational college students).

The final was divided into two parts, written examination and oral test. After severe competition, one student of Band C from ZJUT won the Grand Prize and ZJUT gained the Award of Outstanding Organization.

It is known that NECCS is the only national competition to test the comprehensive English language skills of college students organized by Advisory Board for College Foreign Language Teaching and Institute for College Foreign Language Teaching. This contest aims to appeal to the assessment work of higher education teaching levels of Ministry of Education, to carry out the spirit of the reform of college English teaching and examination, to arouse the students’ interest in English study, to improve the entire English level of the college students, as well as to select and reward the college students with outstanding English learning results. Since 2008, the organizing committee office of this contest was set in the College of Foreign Languages of ZJUT, and ZJUT took full charge of the contest in Zhejiang province. According to the arrangement of the national contest committee, the preliminary contests for this year will be held in early April, and 32575 students have applied for the test including 1938 students from ZJUT.
