On July 21st, the ISSP 13th World Congress of Sport Psychology celebrated its opening in Beijing Sport University. Under the theme of Harmony and Excellence in Sport and Life, the congress lasted for 5 days, containing 9 keynote presentations, 63 symposia (consisted of 298 oral presentations), 579 poster presentations and 8 workshops. The topics of the presentations fell into 4 broad categories, Sport and Exercise Psychology, Motor Control/Learning, Methodology and Special Issues, further divided into 27 subcategories. Participants of the congress consisted of 433 foreign scholars, 175 scholars from mainland China and 52 scholars from Hong Kong and Taiwan, including 14 members of the Managing Council of the International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP), 11 members of the Managing Council of the Asian and South Pacific Association of Sport Psychology (ASPASP), 5 members of the Managing Council of the European Federation of Sport Psychology (FEPSAC), 2 winners of the ISSP Developing Scholar Award and 1 winner of the ISSP Distinguished International Sport Psychologist Award.
